The Forty Rules Of Love. A Novel Of Rumi. by ELIF SHAFAK

Image

Benefits of a hardcopy of Quran

We usually switch to a digital version of Quran loaded in our mobiles allowing us to carry it everywhere. Those who do not forget right after downloading it, can make a great use of it. It can be read everywhere in place of worship or all other permissible places and times like transports. Many of us like this option because it's the unproductive time of our journeys. As commuting time tend to be inscreasing in our congested magapoles, reading Quran in this time really becomes intresting. Strike days, belated train days, never-ending-wait for buses turn into filling up your sawab account. Quran is amazing, once you start reading, you want to read some more. In fact it's like Quran wanted to be read over and over again and it attracts its reciter to continue. So make sure, you multiply opening this Quran without internet app you downloaded. These apps have another benefit of getting undercover, without undesired publicity.  To strengthen this strategy, I've worked out a...

Not at good terms with Ramzan

Long before ot starts, posts praising its spiritual & physical benefits appear in timelines. It seems like the whole year people have been waiting for it ? Really ? So what kind of alien I am because I redoute this month ?  "Ramzan is comming !!" Ok that the paradise's gates are open and that you stomach and digestive system take some rest. Every second organ eliminates toxines. Blood pressure improves. I agree. But it's also when you realise that food matters. Or people wouldn't sleep all day. Yeah, if it didn't people won't put on weight instead of losing. I find it very tiring even if I was in a air-cooled office, I did no manual job and did merely 6000 steps a day in average. It was tiring because I felt weak. Because every time my colleagues ate in front of me, I had to control myself. Because not drinking  caused dehydration. Not eating, caused weakness. I felt dizzy all day without even touching alcohol in my whole life. In this month, I got...

The untold story of unseen bugs

"Ô Allah ! protect me from the seen and the unseen." what does that unseen means ? Not necessarily the people of unseen like the djinns & all sorts of life we are not aware of. But also kind of tiny little things we can't take care of. Take exemple of bugs. Some how, in my very messy - but clean - bed, something started biting me. I had all my feet redened by their bites.  Whenever I went in sunlight, it started itching me, driving me mad and so helpless. What could I do ?I think it also generated my conjonctivite. My pinkeyes added a one more negative point to my already worn out morale. I was having a course that week, skipping classes, missing a day was not a choice. Ophtalmaologists are overbooked in france. You need to take an apointment months ago. Where could I go with my urgently need of eye treatment ? I tried camomilla water, eyes pomade and finally drops for eyes cleansing but nothing quite was working. Sometimes it itched so hard that I wanted to ...

Getting help of figures on my into Islam

Image
I'm trying my way into Islam via figures. Sometimes it isn't easy to do recite things. There are so many ways ! Recitinting kalma or Durood seems so old school. "Me ? With a tasbeeh ?! I do this ? I'm not that cheap !" Know that it's not cheap at all. Speacially for the beginners it's not easy to figure out what to recite, how many times and for how long ? To motivate ourselves, with a friend we set a goal for duroods and the first part of the kalma. Every day we enter our scores and monitor our progress. It motivates and keeps you going.  If you like this idea, I advice you to convince as many friends as you can, set a goal and then collect figures to monitor. This is amazing.  I've forgotten my friends names. Along with our durood competition we also set a goal to read Quran, encouraging us mutually. You may know that Quran is divided in 30 parts. People use the first word of each part to designate them. Thus Quran can be found ...

Explantion of Surah Fatihah, the opening chapter of Quran

My friend and my sister have been recommending me Nouman Ali Khan’s explanation videos for months but I’ve been silly not going checking it. I think it’s important to go through the Quran’s translation on its own then believing the whole life because others. I had made my mind but when I saw Lesly Hazleton’s Ted Talk (I’ve shared it in a previous post), it became urgent to read. So I started by surat Fatihah. There’s a 3h long explanation of Nouman Ali Khan on youtube and believe me you don’t see the time running. His explanation is easy to understand and complete at the same time. So now that I know who is in front of me, I recommend him too, if you have such projects of understanding Quran on your own.
